I just bought Bjork's new album about the universe. It is very good.

And the music video for the lead single Crystalline is by Michel Gondry. Unfortunately there does appear to be some kind of dubstep breakdown segment around the bridge. But I can hack it.

This is the second single off Biophilia. Jointly art directed by Bjork herself and featuring one of the many home-made instruments she and her team created in order to produce the idiosyncratic sound of the album.

There is also an accompanying Ipad App called Moon - with a trailer narrated by David Attenborough. This luckily makes amends for her brief fall to musical trends. Has no one else noticed how boring dubstep is yet?? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

i'm going through a Chris Cunningham Renaissance

This one is perfection:

Sit this one out. It's a grower:

Did I mention i design assisted and was in a music video?? Did I mention that?
It's not as good as these and has now been superseded by a live version for the Guardian.
But I'm not bitter.

Shall we just enjoy some Gondry? Watch out for the Mummies!

Despite being forced (I hope and assume) into getting involved with The Green Hornet, Michel Gondry is still an icon of mine. Watching his music videos, shorts and films is like peering though a cardboard peephole into a papier mache mind - where everyone is either dancing in colourful clothing or thinking really, really hard about stuff.

This one's SOOO great! Michel Gondry is an incredible addition to the music video:

And just because I love it so much and the animation and cardboard make me love the simplicity and child-like creativity that artists can still evoke in us jaded adults:

I guess I had a life when this emerged

Somehow a Moomins movie came out in Finland in August and I was unaware of it. I am counting to ten. It's called The Moomins and the Comet Chase. Unsurprisingly, Bjork did a song for it.

I'm not going to lie; Little My has always scared the shit out of me. Partly because I think I met her once, and it was dark. But, did you know that they were originally created by a Swedish-Finn illustrator and professor of philosophy called Tove Jansson? No, of course you didn't - nobody does. All we know about the Moomins is what our slightly frightened, nostalgic childhood memories recall about the TV show. But before that, it was a series of books and then a comic strip in the London paper, The Evening News, which Jansson drew and wrote from 1954 to 1959. Then she did a graphic novel that looked like this:

But really I'm just in it for the TV show and the Bjork track.

Who the hell is that guy on the left?? I use the term guy liberally.
